DTN Weekly DDG Price Higher on Average
DTN's weekly average spot price for domestic distillers dried grains is
higher versus one week ago.

MINNEAPOLIS (DTN) -- The average DTN spot price for domestic distillers
dried grains (DDG) from 33 locations reporting for the week ended Feb. 5 was
$166 per ton on average, up $4 versus one week ago.
DDG prices were mixed but higher on average for the week, with the cash corn
price higher again and soybean meal prices up $7.20 versus one week ago. As for
cash corn, the DTN National Average Corn Index was up 6 cents versus one week
ago.
Based on the average of prices collected by DTN, the value of DDG relative
to corn for the week ended Feb. 5 was 1.069%. The value of DDG relative to
soybean meal was 54.75% and the cost per unit of protein for DDG was $6.15
compared to the cost per unit of protein for soybean meal at $6.38.
U.S. Grains and Bioproducts Council, in its weekly distillers dried grains
with solubles (DDGS) export market prices report, showed March prices as of
Feb. 5: CIF NOLA barge price was up $18 at $242 metric ton (mt) versus on week
ago; FOB vessel Gulf price was up $12 at $259 mt; rail delivered PNW was down
$7 at $255; and rail delivered to California was up $5 at $250 mt.
Ethanol production in the United States averaged 956,000 barrels per day
(bpd) in the week ended Jan. 30, down 158,000 bpd versus last week and 151,000
bpd, or 13.6%, lower than in the same week last year, the Energy Information
Administration reported Wednesday. Four-week average output at 1.119 million
bpd was 26,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year. Midwest ethanol
production averaged 902,000 bpd, down 153,000 bpd versus last week and 143,000
bpd, or 13.7%, lower than in the same week last year. Four-week average output
at 1.062 million bpd was 31,000 bpd above the same four weeks last year.
